Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish actress and model. Her first feature film appearance was a small role in her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modelling when she was approached. It turned out to be an extremely lucrative profession. Doody did not shy away from glamour or sexually explicit work. This was a policy allowed her to pursue an acting career. In 1985, following receiving notice from the directors who were casting a James Bond new film, Doody took a small part in Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody appeared in John Willis Screen World Volume 2 as one of 12 promising new actors for 1986. 38. Doody, at 18-years-old as she played the character of Doody in Bond she was still the oldest Bond girl until today. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. The Storyteller episode from 1988 was her first appearance in the main role of Sapsorrow and was portrayed by John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist from the forensic field in the 1989 movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody appeared alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody appeared in the 1991 British series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The film was based on The Hitler Diaries publication scam. She later moved to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen, as well as girlfriend in Major League II. She had been chosen as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who was once L'Oreal's spokeswoman. After a long absence from the stage Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. In 2004, Doody appeared alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. The following year, she had been scheduled set to be the main character for The Asphyx remake, but that project fell through. Pam Jefferson, the character she played on E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two years. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014).
